Call for Abstract Submissions: InterLynk Symposium at TERMIS EU 2025

We are excited to announce the opening of abstract submissions for the InterLynk symposium “Biofabrication of humanized constructs targeting multi-tissue regeneration,” which will be held at the TERMIS EU Congress in Freiburg, Germany, from May 20 to 23, 2025. This symposium will feature renowned experts, including InterLynk Coordinator Prof. João Mano from the University of Aveiro and Prof. Lorenzo Moroni from Maastricht University, who will share their latest research on new bioinks based on human protein biomaterials and the integration of biofabrication technologies to regenerate multiple tissue interfaces. Abstract submissions are open until Nov. 15th, 2024 and can be submitted here

The TERMIS EU Congress is a premier event for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, bringing together researchers, clinicians, and industry experts from around the globe. This year’s theme, “Shaping the future by connecting scientific diversity,” reflects the congress’s commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation across diverse disciplines. Starting with a pre-day on May 19, the congress will feature hands-on training workshops for the first time, demonstrating the clinical use of biomaterials and bridging the gap between theory and application.

Within this vibrant setting, our symposium will delve into the cutting-edge domain of biofabrication technologies, focusing on developing constructs that can more accurately mimic the complexity of human tissues. Participants will explore the integration of various fabrication technologies, multimaterials, and diverse cell types to create personalized, multi-functional tissue constructs tailored to individual patient needs. This innovative approach holds great promise for addressing complex injuries and degenerative diseases by enhancing the architectural, mechanical, and biological compatibility of regenerative implants.

This symposium is particularly exciting as it will also present findings from the InterLynk project, a Horizon 2020 research initiative funded by the European Union, which is nearing its final stages. Led by co-chairs Rita Almeida and Tiago Correia from the University of Aveiro, the workshop will provide a chance to learn from the latest advances in biofabrication and to discuss the challenges and opportunities in creating multi-functional, humanized tissue constructs. The research shared here promises to push the boundaries of regenerative medicine, offering new hope for patients with complex tissue needs.

We invite researchers, especially those in biofabrication, and clinicians interested in alternative autologous treatments, to join us in Freiburg and contribute to this groundbreaking dialogue. This is your chance to present your innovative work, share your knowledge, and challenge assumptions alongside a community dedicated to shaping the future of regenerative medicine. Do not miss the opportunity to be part of the next breakthrough. Submit your abstracts at https://eu2025.termis.org/ We look forward to seeing you there!
