KUROS
Kuros Biosciences BV is a life science company, leader in the field of orthobiologics and delivering innovative, osteoinductive synthetic bone grafts to the clinics in Europe and US.
KUROS was born as a spin-off of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich. In 2017, it acquired the Dutch Xpand Biotechnology company, strengthening its structure. Together with the University of Zürich and the California Institute of Technology (CalTech), KUROS developed the proprietary 'TG Hook technology' which led to its biologics’ development program.
KUROS has spent more than a decade refining its technology to develop bone grafts that deliver both targeted and controlled bone healing.
Florence de Groot
Florence de Groot leads the program for the creation and market authorization of innovative bone grafts for human use, at KUROS. She has a PhD degree in Biomimetic Materials for bone regeneration and significant experience in the development of new products for bone repair and GMP processes for bone graft substitutes used in European and US Hospitals. She is an expert in leading projects on nanostructured bone grafts for spine, orthopaedic, dental and craniomaxillofacial use, from the bench testing to clinical trials. She has published more than 25 papers on bone grafting materials in international journals and several book chapters.
Joost de Bruijn
Joost de Bruijn is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Xpand Biotechnology and Progentix Orthobiology.
